meh, deferred…still have a chance though, right?
(congrats to everyone who was accepted!! you guys are seriously amazing.)

To those accepted:

I just “committed” to Brown after being accepted. Now, when I sign on to view the acceptance letter again, it says “Admission decisions not currently available” and underneath that, “Status: Committed to Brown.”

I’m sure there’s no problem, just wanted to check with you guys.

@Tman1005 I also got accepted and the same status came up for me; I assume there is nothing wrong with it then. I do miss the letter of acceptance though! It was so surreal getting accepted, and I had to keep looking at it because my brain wouldn’t recognize it as real!

Mah, I got deferred too
Congrats to all accepted though~ =D>

@OrangeBellied Guess it’s not a problem them Haha, same here.

@OrangeBellied I kind of screen shotted the acceptance letter and I keep looking at. I’m still not sure I got in

My financial aid offer is there and everything is showing up.

To everyone on this thread who got deferred or rejected I’d like to share my story…

Last year on this day I was deferred from Brown University early decision. Needless to say, I was in shambles. I thought to myself that if Brown didn’t want me, no other top college would either. During winter break, I put my best effort in my applications to all the schools that I had an interest in and that I felt I could put a compelling application for.

While I was later rejected by Brown in the regular decision round, I gained acceptance to my other top choices, Dartmouth and Georgetown. While college acceptances are not really a crapshoot (there is a reason behind every decision), it is almost impossible to predict whether the application readers at any school will find your attributes and your story compelling enough to admit you.

So don’t lose hope. Maybe the readers at another school will see the best in you and wish you to come. Secondly, even if you have doubts about applying somewhere, just apply anyway (if you have the time to make a solid effort). I honestly didn’t consider Dartmouth until the week before the deadline and happily attend there now. You really do miss all the shots you don’t take.

To all the deferred and rejected,

Be hopeful while gearing up for your other applications, and best of luck in the regular decision cycle.

Hi all. Accepted and still in shock!

I’m kind of worried about FA though… what does this mean? “No student requirements have been established for the aid year.” I’m absolutely positive I applied for aid and I submitted the CSS Profile really early too. Help please?
