**Brown Class of 2020 RD applicant thread**

@freshlemon123 alums are usually told not to take resumes or anything from the applicants - they’re just supposed to go off of what you verbally tell them, with no additional notes. If you want notes for yourself, so you remember what to say and stuff, then take a resume, but don’t take one to give to the interviewer.

@freshlemon123 Bringing a resume to an interview (college, job, schooler ship etc) is a good habit to develop. Don’t speculate which interviewer rather have supporting data (resume) when generating his report or not. It also allows the interviewer to focus on discussion at hand and not be distracted by having to take comprehensive notes as your resume will surely cover the basics. Again, you are not forcing a resume on them but it is readily available for those who wish to take it and it shows your developing a good habit expected in the professional world.

I submitted a supplementary file days ago in application summary page. Does anyone know how and where I can check the file that I’ve uploaded? Thanks!! :-*

@stvika I finally had to email admissions to get mine (but they can’t resend login so you have to call them for it), because my email ate it  if you can’t find it hiding in your email, I’d contact admissions.

Just had my Brown/PLME interview

Our daughter was asked before hand not to bring a resume to the interview. Her interview was very casual at a Marina and none of the conversation shifted to anything already asked in the application. Most of the conversation was about what our daughter aspires for her future and about the alumni’s experiences at Brown.
It seems like the alumni was trying to get to know her in a different light than what the admission’s office already sees in the application.

Guess all interviews are different bc my interviewer was really glad I had brought a resume with me.
And @NAAN0518 I submitted a supplementary file recently as well and now can find no record of it. At least we are in the same boat
Most likely it got sent but they don’t show it since it isn’t a required thing to be kept track of.

Okay I see. I was feeling insecure about the files… I just hope that they haven’t finished viewing my application and get chance to view the additional materials. Anyway, good luck with your application!

@tuty143 @zacle1234 Re “bad” Brown interviews, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. My D had a terrible half-hour interview with an alumna who didn’t seem to have any interest in my D whatsoever. It was the worst interview my D had in her whole process and was disconsolate afterwards; she still got into Brown. We know the coordinator of the alumni interviewing for our state, and we’ve talked with him about it, and he said that Brown admissions is well aware which alumni interviewers are bad, and that the adcom naturally will discount negative interviews. They don’t want to give too much weight to an experience that is highly dependent on random factors: how good the alum interviewer is, what sort of chemistry there is between them, and whether the interviewer was having a bad day himself or herself. And you might be surprised, too, that a lot of the poor interviewers actually write up very favorable reports–both because they know themselves that they were to blame for the poor experience and they don’t want to be responsible for a bad outcome for a student. I was told point blank by another interviewer that she doesn’t write negative evaluations at all; her view is that it is her job to identify positive attributes for the adcom to be aware of, but otherwise, it’s not her place to point out the negative.

@spayurpets That is very good to hear! eases my worries a little. Honestly the interview wasn’t bad but it seemed forced on her end unfortunately. I’m glad that the interview does not carry much weight in the long run!

Had Brown interview last week, it was my final one for college interviews! Now the long wait…

@c777123 I still have a few more interviews to do but I’m dreading the wait! After my last one my applications will truly be out of my hands.

My interview is on Saturday, then I have to deal with the stress of midyear reports (my semester hasn’t ended yet) but after that…the wait begins. Only 58 days to go!

Less than two months left! Woooo!

International here! For the non-tax filer statement for me, what does spouse’s signature mean? And does print mean I have to electronically fill that out or I can just write that in capital letters?

@schroscat hey girl

A couple of my backup schools have a history of sending out decisions really early…late Februrary into early March. I am hoping the trend continues this year. It would be nice to know SOMETHING from SOMEBODY.

@Hopeful42020 What is that? Is it mandatory? I’m international too, and I haven’t heard of it

Do you think Brown adcoms could decide to be reeeeallly nice and let us know a month early? @tuty143 hey girl hey long time no see

I was accepted to my backup-backup school today, which was a nice break from the endless waiting.
