With the 20% increase in ED applicants, do you all think the admits also increase or will they remain at about 600-700?
“Early Decision Admitted Students (December 15)
Please register for one event: April 7-8, April 14-15 or April 24. Due to housing constraints Brown is only able to arrange overnight accommodations for Regular Decision admitted students. Early Decision students are invited to participate in all programming offered throughout the event.”. These statements are also puzzling. ED admitted students can attend but they won’t be extended housing arrangements whereas RD admitted students will? Doesn’t make too much sense but ok…[should we be so lucky*]
@tcrf15 although this year has had a large increase in ED applicants, it has been slowly increasing for the past five or ten years and they have accepted roughly the same proportion of ED students, while the RD acceptance rate seems to drop each year to accomodate this
I’m guessing ADOCH serves as an attempt at increasing yield-rate, thus they would only extend housing to RD admits as to attract them for ED would already be locked down.
@leftycurve ^^
@leftycurve many accepted RD students are still deciding between Brown and other schools, so they accomodate them more to make them more likely to attend. On the other hand, accepted ED applicants are already locked in, so they don’t have much reason to accomodate them. Up until last year, accepted ED students were invited to ADOCH at all
@tcrf15 sorry I didn’t see you had already responded
No banner id here like some are reporting
@iwannacry by banner ID do you mean reference number or something different?
No worries! @apmaster10.
@iwannacry what do you mean by banner ID?
no, there is a section up at the top of my portal that says “Banner Self-Service”. when i click it, it takes me to a page with 3 tabs that say personal information, student, and financial aid.
So, what is the general consensus? Decisions released 12/13 or 12/15??
@iwannacry wait i dont see a banner id though. what are you talking about.
tcrf15 and apmaster10, I get your points. Thanks What do you all think about the posted 12/15 in the article? Do you interpret it as the literal advertised acceptance date?
Oh, then yes. It does appear.
@leftycurve I think it will be the decision date. :(( Since RD seems to be 3/28 which would be on par with previous years.
@iwannacry it does not say banner at all in my portal
@testingacct54321 does it not say Banner Self Service.
@tcrf15 did you apply for financial aid? (question about the banner)
I think the Banner Self-Service is only for those who applied for financial aid
