What time are the decisions expected on the 6th?
All ivies will be 7PM EST on the 6th
7pm EDT, not EST
Isnât that the same time though
No. By definition, EST = UTCâ05:00.
EDT = UTCâ04:00
No.
Could you please explain?? I googled 7pm EDT and 7pm EST for London time and both read 00;00.
nvm- found my error
EDT is the time during Daylight Savings Time (aka Summer Time to the Brits) EST is the time during Standard Time.
So, just for confirmation. Harvard will be EST and Brown is EDT?
No, they will all be EDT because the Eastern US is in EDT right now (everyone is), so all Eastern time at this moment (and on April 6th) will be in EDT, not EST
Everybody knows what he/she meant for the time. Geesh. 7pm Eastern!
wow, i was just letting them know lol no need to be so aggressive. if they end up attending brown (which I hope they do), theyâll know beforehand-- simple
My bad for starting this EST vs EDT debacle, I just mistyped when writing my comment
This probably sounds dumb but will AOs read newly submitted supplementary materials at this point? I just got an official letter of appreciation from a national commission for my research paper and presentation. Itâs supposed to be huge as almost all the recipients are university students. I hope it wasnât pointless :((
Not being aggressive (and not directed to you specifically). And standard/daylight time applies just about everywhere, so all good!
idk if they will read it or not but either way i dont think itll make a difference in your decision at this point
It might be better off to wait and append in case you are waitlisted as sending the letter may not make much difference for RD.
I am not sure if this was poster earlierâŠ
good luck everyone!
Saw it earlier. Not unusual this year - nearly every highly selective school saw an increase in apps!
