Brown has been my first choice for about 4 months now, so it appears as though I’ll be sticking with it for ED. I am, however, a bit worried about one particular faucet of my academic numbers. Here’s my breakdown:

GPA: 4.0
Rank: 1/350
Curriculum difficulty: I’ve discussed this with my counselor, and she believes I am taking the most difficult course-load offered.
ACT: C32 (E34, M34, R32, S28)
Location: Midwest
Ethnicity Native American (Cherokee)

I am slightly worried about my ACT score paling in comparison to the rest of my statistics. Though my score isn’t terrible by any means, I feel like it doesn’t adequately represent my academic capabilities.

So here’s the dilemma: should I take the ACT again until I get my 33+, or is a 32 sufficient?

Thanks a lot for responding.

You could consider taking the ACT again. But I wouldn't necessarily say to keep taking it until you get 33+. That is really close to where you are now, so I would do it once more and see what happens. Only thing you aren't mentioning above is your extra curricular interests. Many times, that is what impresses admissions officers more than gaining one point on the ACT. Focus on those as well. Good luck!

A 32 ACT is excellent. Your other stats are good too (although I second Franglish on the importance of your ECs). I don't think gaining one or two points on the ACT is going to make the difference between acceptance and denial. Your stats put you into consideration as they are.

Oh, ok! Thanks for your help. Honestly I'm satisfied with my EC accomplishments, so things are looking up for me! =]

Looks like adcoms will like you. Native Americans are probably the most sought-after minority, and add to that great grades, a decent test score, and ED, your chances look pretty good.
