Interview postponed until sometime later this week (don't know when yet) due to fires in our area (Southern California)

my interviewer was really chill
i think i overdressed for it but in the end it was def a good experience
we talked for an hour and a half and no awkward pauses in the middle which i feared haha

I had mine today.

It was really laid-back. Mine actually only lasted a half hour because she had to take her son to a doctor's appt. Haha, but I definitely didn't need to be as nervous. Make sure you know how to answer "why do you wanna go to Brown?". That's the first question she basically asked me, and I think it's the one question they all ask. Other than that, relax and go with the flow. :)

Is there anyone else who really wants an interview, but still hasn't been contacted for one?

I'm dying to have one, but it looks like I'm not going to get one...ugh.

I've already sent an email introducing myself to the regional admissions officer for my area. But i don't want to bother her with questions about an interview...

What region are you from? I haven't gotten an email/call for an interview either and I submitted by the deadline.

Well, I'm from Florida. There are like three or four kids just from my school who are applying early.

I just had my interview, I was soooooo nervous! My interviewer was really young, she was class of '07 and but idk how well it went. It lasted about 45 min. eeeeeeekkk

Classs of '07? Geez, that's like only a few years older than us! I guess it might have been easier to find a common ground though...

Anyone who wants an interview and hasn't been contacted yet -- it's not too late. Call Brown admissions by the end of this week, and (hopefully) something can be worked out.

And remember, if you are deferred ED and didn't have an interview, you can still be interviewed later.

Brown's goal is to interview 100% of applicants.

i haven't been contacted for an interview yet and i applied ed. if i don't call brown admissions to try to schedule one will that hurt my chances of getting in?

My interviewer was pretty old. Probably around 50-something. She admitted that her information was dated and seemed like a hurry to get out. She seemed to not understand why she was called for an alumni interview given her career and graduation year.

Overall, a mediocre experience.

Rhythm of Rhyme, I just got an email requesting an interview and I think I might have the same person you had- what was his name? Actually, you can PM me if you'd rather not put that information on here. :)

anyone from india got an inteview?

snowboard: no, it will not affect your chances of admission is you don't have an interview.

ethician: sorry you had a bad experience. No alum is forced to do interviews, so I'm not sure I understand this person's perspective. (Although I am a little disappointed that you consider someone who is 50something to be "pretty old.")

I just had my interview today and it was phenomenal! We had so much fun talking we couldn't leave =D

Good luck to all others ^^

Thanks, fireandrain. :) Also, my friend said her interviewer was about 70.

I got an email today, and my interview is thursday, sooo excited :) yay Brown:)

Good luck to all in this thread.

Having an alumni interview is a great chance.

I got called for an interview last night...my interview's Sunday! I'm still not sure where it is yet, she said she'd contact me later this week about it. There were kind of awkward silences during the phone conversation, I hope she doesn't have a bad first impression of me. =P

I have a question, should I type up an activities list and hand it to the interviewer? I read an activities list is a pretty good idea, but I don't know.

Did you read the Hernandez books?

I think instead of typing up an activities list to hand it to the interviewer, you should try to just tell the interviewer your activities. It just seems like that might be more.. I don't know. Interactive? Effective?
