Brown Engineering?

how competitive is Brown Engineering to get into? biomedical engineering??

I don't know that, but I do know, as a silicon valley denizen, that Brown engineering is very well regarded here.

@ailey - you refer to brown computer science or brown engineering?

Does anyone here know about Brown's Cognitive Science? How is it?

My interactions with Cog sci have been wonderful-- our former provost, dean of the college, and interim president, Shelia Blumstein, is a cognitive neuroscientist in that department. We're currently working on getting some funding to construct a new "Mind and Brain Science" center on campus containing cognitive science and psychology.

All of my interactions with them have been wonderful, and with Professor Blumstein in particular.

That's great, modestmelody! Hey... Isn't your concentration Chemistry? I wanna know more specifically about your interactions with them. How did you build the link with them? I mean, did your chemistry teacher suggest you so or you just went for them by your own interest? I know Brown's cross-courses are great, but I'm so curious to know more about how they work.

I'm so thrilled that there may be a new "Ming and Brain Science" centre at Brown!!! BTW, do you know any big research about this field now done by Brown's students or faculty? And besides the interactions within school, do you have any communications or corporations with researchers outside campus, say, in another university?
