Hi! I know on the Brown website, it says that applicants who took the ACT or SAT with the writing section do not have to send in a graded writing sample, but would you still recommend sending it to Brown?
Thank you!

^^(bump) I have the same question! The website states that it’s “not needed” so I feel bad for giving them extra work. But my SAT essay score was pretty mediocre, and I think a graded paper would be a much better representation of my writing/literary analysis level.
Your interpretation of the instruction is as good as anyone’s. In my opinion, there is no harm in uploading something which is not needed, assuming that what you upload is a good representation of your work.
thank you guys so much!
Do transfer applicants need to submit a graded paper?
Yes. Send it. It’s an open offer to send in a portfolio of your critical writing and thinking abilities, unlimited by 650 word limits or specific prompts.
