I will be taking the chem, math 1, math 2, and american history sat 2's

I would like to major in biomedical engineering

What do you think my chances are? as of now anyway?

you had me convinced until the 1900 SAT. for the ivieis you look like a typical applicant, so it's a big tossup. those SAT scores aren't going to help in the regular pool either since it's much more competitive. tufts is a match, GWU and BU are matches as well. <-- but express interest in all three schools, esp tufts since they are so sick & tired of being a backup for the ivies

No chance at Brown, Penn, or Tufts unless your scores improve. EC don't really show a specific passion...no significant leadership roles either.

you have to show that your a well rounded applicant for the top 30 schools so your SAT score will have to be around 2100 for Tufts and around 2200 for ivies. Another thing is ur junio year isnt even half over yet. Your GPA can take a nose dive esp if your taking harder classes this year, so post again once juinor has ended. Lastly, your exc are in great quantity but outside of violin (since you've done it so long) your exc are really common and things anyone across the US can easily do so you'll need to try over the summer taking SAT classes and maybe applying for an internship.

SAT study guide - I found an author that was obtuse and entertaining and read everything he wrote (Stephen J Gould), I got the Barron's work list and memorized it, and I took 10 full practice tests (actual CEEB tests) - all sections. In math I figured out the knack from taking these.

A great class rank is huge, SATs are not quite as important but you still want to do as well as you can. Have fun with it, make it a game, take them a few times.
