"Please tell us more about your interest in Brown: Why does Brown appeal to you as a college option? Who or what has influenced your decision to apply?"

This is one of Brown short answer questions. You don't upload a doc or anything but type it up on the Common app website.

I just wanted to know if I should give it a strait forward answer. I had this cool love letter I started but I didn't know if it would be appropriate?

That depends on what your straightforward answer is. If the answer is I want an Ivy League bumper sticker for my moms car or I dont care too much about growing as a person, I just want to make lots of money then you shouldnt go with the straightforward answer. If the straightforward answer shows a little more genuine enthusiasm and insight, then use that. Even though the topic is Brown University, the essay is really about you.

Tone will be important if you decide to use the love letter. Dont gush. Check out the paragraph about tone in this article on our website: [College Application Essay Tone]( http://collegeateam.com/five-application-essay-mistakes-to-avoid/
)

Try to think of something ultra-specific you can at least mention in passing when writing this. Is there a particular bench on the main green you like to sit on? Is there a professor you definitely want to study under? How did Brown come onto your radar (only if you have a good back story)?

Good luck.
