Brown to Upenn

Should I transfer from brown to Upenn if I want to do banking? I feel like brown people say that recruiting is good and less competitive but I would fare much better at penn

Or should I also look at Michigan Ross?

It won’t make much difference at this point unless you really dislike being at Brown.

Your other posts suggest that you are spinning around trying to guarantee that you will get recruited to a big name company when you graduate, preferably with a big name sorority badge.

You haven’t even started at Brown. You turned down Michigan (w/out Ross) already. You “feel” that you would fare better at Penn- but irl you don’t actually know much.

You can get into banking from Brown just fine- the big names all recruit there.

You chose Brown. Give your heart to it, for all of the first semester. See how it suits you. Look around at the seniors and what they are doing. Look for summer internships, If it really doesn’t suit you, then look. In real life, what will make the most difference for where you end up after college is what you do during college.

Agree with above. You have a wonderful opportunity to attend one of the finest colleges in the country. How you fare after graduation will depend in large part on how well you take advantage of your educational opportunities, if you seek out meaningful activities outside of the classroom (ex. internships, research, ECs) etc. I’ve never heard of anyone being at a disadvantage because he/she graduated from Brown. You seem scattered as to what you want (top tier soririty?) and if Brown isn’t the right place for you then chose an other option now.

In addition as a piece of unsolicited advice, I would caution you against starting any school with the intent of transferring out immediately. This will hold you back from developing meaningful friendships with fellow students and professors, getting fully involved in campus life etc. and then if a transfer doesn’t work out you will really be stuck.

Here’s another vote for giving Brown a chance. You can get into banking from Brown.

Remember why you chose Brown. The happy/mellow vibe, the open curriculum, the pretty little campus on a hill in a colonial city, the strong academics and rep, the undergraduate focus…?
