To the OP: You definitely need a safety school or two because you are certainly well-qualified for the schools you are applying to, however as many have said, these schools have many applicants who are of equal qualification. Therefore none of these schools is a lock, so I would highly recommend that you add a safety school to your list so you have some type of back up plan that you hopefully won't need to use. Just like the airbag on a car - hope you never, ever need it, but if you do, you are glad it worked.

ah i see, i think that's where my application is kind of lacking. i don't have anything "stand-out" perse. i was initally rejected from wharton ED and i guess that was why.

However, would anyone mind telling me where i stand based on scores?

i think you could get into brown, uchig, nwu and nyu with ur high stats.
i guess it all depends on other things such as essays.
you said your goal was to transfer to wharton. i don't know if that is going to be possible. it'll be very difficult. if you want to study business, you should've add michigan to your list.
but i think your numbers are high enough to go to any of those colleges except mit and stanford

hmm ok. why are you saying it would be "very difficult" to transfer into Wharton?

What's the next best school on my list that would get me a high salary straight out of college in the i-banking field?

based on an analysis of all of these posts it seems that I have close to slim chance of transferring to Wharton as a sophomore and my chances to all my schools are pretty crappy. Anyone wanna tell me how much hope I should have for my top choice Brown Univeristy?

ok, so, anyone?

You have almost no chance. Nothing stands out on your resume. You are what we call at the Ivies "Pathetic Applicant"
On a brighter note, you have decent SATs and APs

You have NO CHANCE at stanford, mit, brown
You have 50% Chance at U.Chicago & Northwestern
You have a 51% chance at NYU(Stern)

I think your biggest issue is that you don't seem to actually like any of these colleges- you're just interested in how they can help you transfer to another school (Wharton) or get you into your chosen field. You should apply to a college because you want to be there, not because of whether it can "get you a high salary." And chances are colleges have been and will be able to see your ulterior motives pretty clearly.

I'm not sure why you keep asking about "where you stand based on scores." Several people have told you your scores are fine, and they certainly will not keep you out of these colleges. But we also keep telling you that scores are not enough. You've already experienced that with your ED rejection.

I'm particularly confused about why Brown is your top choice. Its philosophy and atmosphere seem totally antithetical to what you want in a college and in life.

that was helpful, magnolia07.

You see, I wanted to go to Wharton because of the name and the money after graduating. Its all about the respect.

Brown, similarly, has Ivy league status and is respected. U.Chicago is kinda known for its academics and not many people hail to its name the way they do to Brown/Upenn. NYU(stern) doesnt feel like it would give me a good transfer setup.

hopeful2007, you are an idiot.

Try looking for some safety schools because as others have expressed, colleges will look through your ulterior motives.

I'd say chances look pretty weak for MIT/Stanford.
Your other chances go like this

Northwestern > NYU(stern) > U.Chicago > Brown > MIT > Stanford

Likely Brown,MIT,Stanford,U.Chicago reject.
Likely Northwestern, NYU(Stern) accept

Go to NYU(stern) if you wanna make big bucks and transfer to Wharton.

That was rude and uncalled for.

Any other NICE posts, please?

ah ok i see

new posters appreciated
