As soon as I came into this thread I wondered why so many people were just congratulating someone but literally WOW. Enjoy your gap year @Quijote ! Congratulations!!
When do RD decisions come out? I’m worried because my scores/ECs are great, but my grades not so much. Also, it wasn’t terrible, but I hated my interview and interviewer. I founded a Women’s Empowerment Club at my school and she later told that one of the challenges of her time at Brown was being a conservative, non-feminist woman at such an overwhelmingly liberal campus. We were exact opposites.
@crazypencilg That’s so awkward! I don’t think the interviews can make or break an application though. So, chin up! And all will be revealed on March 31!
@crazypencilg I had a male interviewer like that. One of the first questions he asked was if my parents are both from Alabama (where I live). I answered yes, and he went on to say that Brown has too many Internationals and people from the Northeast and the West coast. He warned me that it’s an “extreme” campus, and Brown could use some Southern class.
As long as you answered her questions and asked a few questions, you should be fine! I’m not too worried about my interview, and I don’t think you should be either. Good luck on March 31!
@crazypencilg that is just bad luck I think, but you never know, she might write in her notes that you are perfect for Brown, in a way that she wasn’t.
As everyone says, the interviews don’t carry much weight so I wouldn’t worry about that part.
Actually, don’t worry about any of it, worrying will not change anything at this point. Good luck.
My friend got an email from Brown saying that decisions are coming out on March 31st but I never got this email. Should I have gotten it? I’m kinda like concerned haha
I received an email telling me I had never logged on to the portal. It recommended that I try it out because decisions are coming out on March 31, 2015, at 5:00P est.
I had an outside recommender (a research mentor from over the summer) and apparently Brown sent her a letter thanking her for her recommendation and saying it was “helpful in the evaluation process” or something of that sort. Anyone else get something like this or know what it means?
