Rejected PLME after getting deferred…

Did anyone that got in get a financial package
rejected harvard yale princeton cornell, wow someone get me some ice for my burn
@dhizzy still much better options than a lot of people…I got rejected from every reach officially. Literally the worst feeling ever. I worked so hard too.
D rejected. 2300 SAT, 3.71 UW artsy EC’s. Only Ivy she applied to. She forgot to check this evening so it shows you how much this was on her mind. Deciding between Emory and Tulane now.
Congrats to those accepted and peace and hugs to those not admitted.
@Gigantor I got mine under current award information. It showed up about an hour ago.
anyone know how to accept the waitlist offer? i can’t find a link or button
“Rarely will an interview be the determining factor in an application.” – an interview making a difference in the ultimate decision or not is entirely different from not getting an interview altogether. Not being able to arrange an interview implies that someone reached out to you. I live in an area with plenty of alumni, and I have ultimately been rejected. Either way, I’ll never need to ask a similar question at CC, and certainly not on this thread. Congrats to everyone who was accepted!
wait @byebyebirdy are u saying u didn’t get in because you didn’t arrange an interview?
@tkdgirl98 I’m saying that being worried about not getting an interview was valid. I asked a question a couple pages ago and got hammered by some commentators here who felt the Brown page was very clear and I was being stupid. Their page is purposefully vague and while the interview might not have a huge affect on the decision, there is nothing about who gets an interview. Sure, most people might have average interviews and it wouldn’t make a difference in their decision but who decides who gets interviews? I just wanted clarification. That being said, I was accepted to Cornell so I don’t think applying to Brown was too crazy. There just was a way nicer way to answer my question then yell at me.
@tkdgirl98 I applied to PLME and somehow got in!
I GOT IN!!! Accepted at Dartmouth as well! Waitlisted at Princeton and UPenn. As I said before, I have SAT II scores of 670 for Math II and 580 for Chem II. I’m in shock. Don’t ever, ever give up on your dreams.
Choosing between UNM, UWyoming, USC, Tufts, Brown, and Dartmouth now!
Also, I’m an Asian who’s a Questbridge Scholar who needs a TON of financial aid. So none of this “Brown hates Asians” deal. I still can’t believe I got in.
The interview program at Brown is run by the Alumni Association. When the Admissions Office receives your application–well before they begin to evaluate it, obviously, since the application deadline is usually January 1 and interviews start rolling early January–they send your name to the Alumni Association.
The Alumni Association sends your name to an “Area Chair”, who is an alumnus volunteer, for your region. The Area Chair assigns your name to a volunteer alumnus interviewer. Sometimes alumnus interviewers are not available, or are available but too busy to handle all the assignments. Best efforts are made to interview everyone, but sometimes best efforts fail.
I expect this is how it works at other schools that have alumnus interview programs, but I am not sure. You have been through the process at Cornell. How does it work there that is any different from this?
@fenwaypark Thats literally all I needed to know. I assumed it was similar but I just wanted to check. Anyways, not worth worrying about now
Accepted!!! Maybe will post stats in the future or you can just find any of my other posts because they haven’t changed. This is my only reach school to take me and a lot better school than a lot of those that (somewhat) surprisingly rejected me.
Congrats @Gigantor and @belgiumapp on the PLME! And to everyone else accepted!
Rejected. Congrats to all accepted
