Recs: Waived FERPA. But every recommender of mine knows me extremely well. The one from my dance teacher was apparently phenomenal.
I also sent a 500 word writing sample to Brown because I plan on majoring in English/Phil/Comparative Lit and the likes. Indicated my interests as Comparative Lit and Theatre.
Any international students contacted for their interviews?
In reply to your other question - I’m an international and haven’t even received my portal email!
@StillWaitingHere yes, it was a group interview session. All the applicants met in one office, and then they connected us with an individual interviewer. I’ve never done that before.
I know the two schools that I applied to at Cornell do not give interviews.
@jazzdancer2102 I think that your stats give you a very solid chance. Your SATs are a little low for an international student, but your ECs, GPA, and course load all look great.
Best of luck!
@jazzdancer2102 I think you have great grades and standardized test scores. You sound like a very unique, interesting, and talented individual with your dancing, Zumba-instructing, and interest in theater. How do you have time to do everything? But anyway, I think Brown would be lucky to have you.
*You don’t have to chance me back.
@ilovethecity thank you so much well, I think 4 hours of sleep a night does the trick with the hope of getting into Brown and having the summer of my life after high school.
@fizzy110 I applied on 9th December and got my portal by the 22nd. If you applied over the break, you might get yours in 4-5 days’ time.
@Tman1005 haha ik that’s what I am sweating about. I’m a horrible test taker, I had the worst circumstances while taking tests and they were mentioned on my application. Had 3 family members hospitalized, mother’s cancer got really bad… Well I guess I can’t blame them for that but it probably played on my psyche while going in to do my testing. I’m more of the weird, creative kinds who can’t shade 4 circles for nuts.
I still didn’t get my portal info. Should I call them? I applied on the 25th.
I haven’t gotten my portal info either. It says it ca take up to three weeks.
I am hoping I get my portal soon too! Brown is the only school I am waiting for!
Hello, I am Prince Ebola.
For those of you who got portal, can you check the portal. Is there a way to upload additional files? I now that some portals have it.
@leno4ka Yes, you can upload additional files. Here is what it says on the portal:
“Thank you for applying to Brown University. Applicants to Brown are neither required nor expected to provide additional materials, but the opportunity to do so is available to any candidate. You may use this site if you have updates or additional materials that you would like to share with us. Please upload those materials below. NOTE: Please do not submit files over 1000 KB.”
Thank you! Now I just need to get my portal
I got my portal today, so you guys should expect to get your portals today as well.
@Hawkace did you apply like on the 30th or earlier?
@stahboy Yes.
