I don’t have it Should it be next to the financial aid tab?
Like someone said, the difference is probably a different estimate for travel costs. From CA our travel cost was estimated at 880 so the COA was even higher before aid.
@johonmilla No, I havent been accepted, but it seems as if everyone who applied for FA has it so I wouldn’t take it as a “sign”. Thank God we cleared that up before it became this huge thing and people started freaking out (like me)
Omg I don’t have anything still hahah
I don’t want to read into it too much but why would they take time to go through every FA applicant and give them a specific COA? If there’s about 900 waitlisted students approximately that would mean they would create that specific cost for at least 400 students which would seem pretty pointless. Unless like you said it’s not specific to each student but rather on their location, so every int’l student would have the same COA, NY the same etc… wish I could stop overthinking!!
I know this is speculation but isn’t the freshman class size around 1665? The Facebook group already has 1771 members. Does this mean anything?
@nycc99 they might just not have removed some people who got in but decided not to go
this wait is getting so frustrating!
I’ve just sent an email to my regional admissions officer to see if he can provide any insight to this years waitlist process and whether they will be continuing to admit more students. I will let you know what their reply is when I receive it!
thanks @ezzy98 @lighthouse1a1
My prediction at this point would be that they will be taking at least a few more kids as people who are currently deposited choose to go other places (as other waitlists move), along with if any of the kids they currently offered a spot from the waitlist said no.
Beyond that, I doubt anyone else comes off the waitlist, as they have definitely done their first wave already.
@nycc99 , People join the FB page when accepted. Some will matriculated elsewhere and most will not leave the FB page.
still think it’s strange that @nycc99 's AO said people wouldn’t hear until this week and that no one seems to have gotten anything in the mail yet
@lighthouse1a1 yes at 3 pm on thurs the AO replied that the earliest I could hear was next week and the latest was mid June so I was shocked that @douggy91 got a call at 3:30 pm. But maybe it is because I wasn’t in the first wave. No one can receive papers so soon by mail if they were mailed out on thurs/fri. We are all guessing just have to wait it out.
Oh dear. I wish we (DD) can move on soon with all this waiting. I’m stuck waiting for word from Brown before I can make arrangements for flights and hotel accommodations for move-in to the school that she committed to. Ugh!
I did get my envelope of materials today (live pretty close to Providence, so not surprising that it came today if it was mailed on Thursday). Pretty generic admissions letter about how difficult it was to get in this year, but no further details about the waitlist or how they would use it.
@douggy91 What other colleges were you accepted?
@scoutyboy Cornell, Bowdoin, Middlebury, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, and a few others that are not as selective. Currently deposited at Cornell but planning on switching to Brown.
@douggy91 great list. You had many good options even without Brown. I would pick Brown too, but all these listed are great schools! Congrats!
The Facebook group has now went up to 1,782 members from 1,771 just yesterday
