BruinCard and Loans

Hey guys,

I have two quick questions.

1) How do you suppose to check your BruinCard status? I know you go to MyUcla, but where do you go from there?

2) How do I know what kind of loans I am qualified for?

Thanks

1) "You will be notified when your photo has been received and processed. If you do not receive a call from our office within five business days, please contact the BruinCard Center at (310) 825-2336 to check on the status of your card."
2) This is vague. Explain please. Did you apply for financial aid? If so, didn't they give you ePALs?

should i be sending info for my bruincard in?

Yea, they gave me epALS, but i dont know how to interpret them...

I hope that helps!

I have a question though, how can a family NOT afford the EFC? I mean isnt the whole point of EFC is for the families to AFFORD college?

What do you mean? Please rephrase your question.

The point of EFC is that by putting in the information provided on your parents' taxes into a magical financial aid calculator the amount your parents should contribute is given to you. If you cannot actually afford your EFC you can figure something out through scholarships or loans or whatever means.

nvm, i was being an idiot...im really stressed about orientation though, cuz like i HAVE to get in on the first session...

You will be able to check your BruinCard status on MyUCLA once the database is up and running...which will be soon. I know my supervisor told me that you wont be able to see your actual status message until June 1st so until then... you wont be able check. Hope that helps!

thanks for the help, but I REAAAALLLY need to know if there is a way for me to catch the first train, cuz i need to get the first session of orientation

well as soon as orientation sign ups go on my ucla just register as soon as you can...orientation 101 was definitely open for at least a couple of days when I signed up for orientation so I wouldn't worry too much about it

ok, great, i have another question, i have already confirmed and paid for my housing contract. but the email confirmation from ucla says that since im under 18, i must print out the "Housing Contract". Where can I find this Housing Contract? If it's just the email confirmation, then is there a specific place for my parents to sign it or can they sign anywhere they like? Thanks.
