Anyone visited/attended this school?

my sister applied- its a very cute school, great for business/accounting, though thats not her thing

yeah its nice
i visited it and im being recruited for tennis there

if i dont get into uvm im going there

DS has a good friend who is a freshman there this year. He is very happy there, majoring in some aspect of business (accounting??),was given some merit $$.

tennis8713, I think the gold is sent to anyone who inquires or visits the school. How do they know that who is in the top of the app pool before one applies and sends transcripts/scores?

Someone posted Bryant or UMass? I cannot find his/her query, but I would go against the grain of the other posters and say that I would go to Bryant (unless $ is an issue and UMASS would cost less).

the tennis coach told me that, but yeah how much of a boost is being on the athletic recruit system help?

Sorry, I have no idea. I would think that if your stats are close to inline, it will help get you in. They have to have so many of each athlete, and so many with other types of skills and abilities to round out everything. My S got a gold app b/c he asked the school some questions and visited I think. I guess it is possible that the school got his psats before they sent the gold. He did have excellent scores for Bryant.

i have an 1110 (580[m]) (530[v]) and an 89 gpa, do you think thats good for bryant

Yes, I think that you have an above average gpa, and average to a little above average on the sats. Bryant's sat mid-range is: 490-570v and 520-610m. I think it is a match school for you. The gold app and tennis is definitely not going to hurt either! By average to slightly above ave. on the sats, I mean that your math is on the higher end of the average spectrum by a little.

do you no lot about u of vermont, if you do, do you think i can get in there too on grades, no tennis team,

Well I think that even though you are a little low for the verbal for UVM they accept around 70%+ of their male and 80%+ of their female applicants. I do not know how those % change for oos. I think it is a reasonable high match. Someone else might be better able to access your chances there b/c I don't know too much about it.

This is a question about uvm but technically all colleges. My dads uncle has given a pretty good sum of money and a condo(in florida) to uvm and then he wrote like a rec for me and sent it to them u no saying they should consider me, keep the family tradition blah blah that generic jazz...what kind of impact do you think this could have

Since you seem qualified on your own merits, I would add that a school is not stupid either. I would think it will help quite a bit. Why would they "cut off the hand that feeds..."? Keep in mind that your stats are well within their range. Your dad's uncle was not asking for any miracles.

"Since you seem qualified on your own merits" are you talking on vermont?

Yes, I was referring to UVM since you asked about about your dad's uncle's donations and recommendation. You are within their range on your own merit. I would think that your dad's uncle will only help. Your verbal sat is on the low side though.

got in to bryant today, the tennis coach called and said he got the info from admissions

Congratulations! You should be excited! It is a good school. I asked how much ppl know about it on the parent"s board.

well i will but im not you know over excited ill do that when i get the official paper, its like knowing you won best actor but you havent got the award yet. ya no

Oh, I get it. In that case I think the coach kind of spoiled the moment, but it still is kind of nice to know, even if it is not on paper yet.
