Thread for people who have applied ED1 to Bryn Mawr College! Only a little over a month till we get our decisions!
If you are currently a HS Senior of Class of 2018, then you will be applying to Bryn Mawr Class of 2022. I suggest starting a new thread with 2022 in title. Maybe check first and see if one is already started (I just checked and did not see one).
BTW, good luck! My D is a junior and BMC is one of her top 3, and she plans to ED as well.
Yes I am! Sounds good, I will do that.
I am!
I’m applying ED and I’m in love with Bryn Mawr! I’ve already done a visit and an interview (at my school and on the Bryn Mawr campus) I feel like my app is pretty strong!!! Keep updating and let’s see if we’ll be meeting each other at BMC next year :^)
Yep same here! I’m super excited!
Hi!! I got my application in a few days ago and it’s SUCH a relief! I visited on Junior Athlete Day about a year ago, and haven’t been able to make it back to campus because of how far away it is, but I’m super excited/anxious to hear if we got in! Do you have an Instagram? I hope we get to meet each other at BMC next year!
Same here! Fingers crossed!
Same! So ready to be done with the college search… What made Bryn Mawr your top choice?
I come from a super tiny Quaker school in the area, so I really wanted a similar community. That paired with its beautiful campus, great history program, and proximity to Philly made it the easy choice between Bryn Mawr and Smith. Plus I didn’t really want to travel very far from home. What about you?
I come from a sparsely-populated, wheat-growing part of the country, where most people are content to stick to themselves. Conservatism is built into the social environment as well as the political one, and it’s suffocating on both levels. Bryn Mawr spoke to me because of the Honor Codes, and how tight-knit and caring the community is. It’s also very rigorous academicly, while still fostering a community of empowerment. After my visit, I was hooked. If you like Bryn Mawr on paper, seeing it in person will blow your mind. I love that it’s a women’s college, I love the tri-co, and I love that it gives me a chance to get out of the midwest and be exposed to diversity! So anxious to see the admissions decisions… how are you guys passing the time??
I’ve been super busy with musical my school’s putting on. That and obsessively checking College Confidential and the ApplyingToCollege subreddit.
I was deciding between Bryn Mawr and Smith as my top two choices, too. It was a little hard to choose between the two but Bryn Mawr seems to have everything. I visited so many colleges and all of them had something I didn’t love, but Bryn Mawr checks all the boxes: small liberal arts school, beautiful campus, close to a large city, swimming, traditions, awesome dorms, etc. I did not want to be super far away, but a 4 hour drive from upstate NY is not bad!
Yeah, I really loved Smith’s campus and housing system, as well as Northampton, but Bryn Mawr’s proximity to Philly(a city I’ve lived near all my life) was really awesome. Plus I’m super in love with all of Bryn Mawr’s traditions.
I’ve only been to Philly once but I’ve been to BMC three times. Right now I am super busy taking a lot of classes and swimming every day. I’m so excited to get a decision back even though the deadline hasn’t even come yet!
Does anyone know FOR SURE when decisions come out? I’m losing my mind sitting here in purgatory. Hopefully we will all see each other next year
SAME HERE! Waiting is sooo much harder than anticipated!! My admissions person said “first week of December”, I’ve seen online that it’s December 1st, but I’ve also seen the date December 15th… And last year, I believe ED1 decisions weren’t finalized until the 24th of December
I’ve just sort of been assuming it was the 15th, but I really hope it’s not later than that!
The website says we’ll know BY the 15th, so it may end up being sooner?
I check my email like six times an hour and have both BiONiC and my own personal site bookmarked… I NEED to know soon!
