Hey! I’m an incoming freshman and was trying to find more information about the BSHM undergraduate degree. The problem is I can’t seem to find anything anywhere besides this (http://www.utdallas.edu/academics/fact-sheets/jindal/bs-healthcare-management.html) and this (http://jindal.utdallas.edu/undergraduate-programs/bs-healthcare-management/). All other programs seem to have course catalogs, specific degree requirements and all that. Someone please point me in the right direction?!
There’s a BS in Healthcare Management major at UTD? Boy did I go to the wrong university…
Yup, I asked around and it is a new major. Are you going to UT?
Yeah, I wanted to get into healthcare management so I decided to major in Health Promotions and Kinesiology w/ a Business minor here, hoping to get into grad school for actual health care management.
Good luck finding out more! In my experience it helps to contact the department’s advisors and they always provide good info Good luck!
what exactly is Healthcare Management (BSHM)? What can you do with that major?
—I wanted to major in public health but UTD doesnt have this major so im not sure which path to go on. (I want to go into pharmacy)
I would agree with lovechickfila about contacting the department’s advisors and seeing how it fits into getting a pharmacy degree. It is an interesting degree. I have a masters in HCA and many of the classes are in this degree ie: medical terminology, ethics, history of healthcare in the US, healthcare law. It is missing the business classes and instead has the science classes. I think it would be a great degree for premed or dentistry, anything in the healthcare field that you specialize in after UG level. Again, I would talk to the advisor about how it fits for pharmacy.
