@paracarli
Do you know if UConn provides merit scholarships to out of state. Will call if I do not hear anything.

Sorry tink, I’m instate, so I can’t know for sure. If you mean the scholarship that comes with acceptance, then yes, you do (got 5k academic excellence scholarship instate, only have to pay less than 4k tuition, heck yes).

one of the med school policy experts on CC told me AAMC published somewhere that 2016 admissions is the last year the old MCAT scores are allowed. That is also the first batch of students who can use the new MCAT.

@tinkerbell No, I didn’t get in, but I got $16,000, but they still do not give full tuition. UConn provides some merit scholarships out of state, but not much. Mostly in state.

@paracali are you saying you haven’t heard accepted or denied from Siena? Those letters when out last week, if you haven’t heard anything, call them.

@texaspg that sucks… hopefully the new one won’t be much harder.

Accepted to Villanova/Drexel. Snailmail from Drexel School of Medicine dated 3/6. Received today.

congrats retro22! Same here! Accepted to Villanova/Drexel! Also through snailmail dated 3/6 =D

Congrats everyone. Looks like everyone on this thread has an acceptance to an MD program somewhere or the other

Accepted Villanova/Drexel

Accepted into Villanova/Drexel as well!!

Sent from my SCH-I535 using CC

@newdoc how many programs do you have so far? What is your top?

@TheBombingRange
Only Brooklyn and Villanova so far. My top choice is Boston but I’m still waiting for that.

Sent from my SCH-I535 using CC

Accepted Villanova/Drexel as well!

Seems like the entire applicant pool from Villanova is on CC haha

@TheBombingRange I didn’t apply to Siena, I was talking about UConn…lol awkward it’s the only ba md program I applied to because a) I’m stupid and didn’t apply to more and b) it’s the only place I can afford

Congrats Villanova/Drexel admits. How many seats in this program?

@texaspg- the # of acceptances was apparently 27. I don’t know how many “seats” fore say, as I interpret that as the number they expect to matriculate.

@paracali When did you interview? You said you are out of state, right?

@texaspg, approximate numbers for Villanova/Drexel are… about 500 apply->about 150 forwarded to medical school->about 50 interviews->about 25 acceptances->about 10 matriculate

Just got my formal REMS (URochester) rejection today…

So far, Case PPSP- rejected w/ out interview
Northwestern HPME- interviewed
Waiting on Rice/Baylor
Accepted- Pitt and Vandy full-tuition scholarship, Yale SCEA

These combined BS/MD admissions are tough. A big congratulations to everyone who’s been admitted to a program!
