Anyone have anything to add on how their USciences interview went?

Hi
Congratulations. Can you kindly post your D’s stats?

Hi, I just received mail notification of a second interview at TCNJ/UMDNJ’s 7-year med program! So excited! :D

Caltech-UCSD interviews - I believe it might be around 20 people getting interviewed. They make offers to more than 6 since not everyone accepts them.

@hcarmingkarma can you post your stats? Are you in state?

And my stats are the usual:
-2340 SAT’s,
-4.325 W GPA, 3.83 UW (dropped a full 0.07 just from this last quarter),
-Solid SAT II’s (790, 780, 800 in bio, chem, math II),
-Top 3% of class of 700 (school doesn’t rank),
-Have taken 9 AP classes so far with 5’s on 4 of them (5 last year and 4 this year, school -doesn’t allow sophs and froshes to take AP classes, my AP Spanish score was botched by collegeboard so idk what I got),
-I’ve won state and national awards in chemistry, biology, and engineering (but they were BS competitions, really only testing general information and ranking test-takers)
-A member of various clubs, but no leadership positions or even anything consistent
-Volunteered at a hospital for 60+ hours, but I didn’t really do anything
-Certified EMT and log 12-16 hours per month for local volunteer rescue squad, for about a year now
-Varied interests including piano, cello, self-teaching languages, film, dance, stock market, etc. (but no major awards or anything like that)
-Private tutor, and just recently part-time fast-food delivery
-Counselor rec was “Fantastic”; paraphrasing, never saw them, but were his words
-Teacher recs: idk, idk, not allowed to look a them
-First interview: was pretty good I thought
-Around ~150k income bracket

And yes, I’m in-state.

when did u first interview? @hcarmingkarma

Hey phloppy95, I was given an interview at Cincinnati College of Medicine!

yes they can but out of state only comprises about 10% of the class, so 1-2 spots total

Hi guys! Got invited to interview for HPME
I’ve had alumni interviews but never one like this, and I’ve heard these of long and gruesome.
Has anyone had some? I heard there were curve ball questions? Is that true?
Basically - HELP!

ok so i got an interview for the BA-MD program with Brooklyn College but the funny thing is that i never sent them the supplement for the program. the only thing i submitted was the Macaulay Honors app which isn’t even required for the program.

so now i have an interview for a program i didn’t even apply for. i hope i’m not the only one in this situation because i’m nearly had an actual anxiety attack

Um, @inevitable, I first interviewed like 3-4 weeks ago?

Just had my Drexel/Drexel interview this weekend! Anyone hear anything from Rochester and/or WashU?

Rems and washu we’ll only know in march

@malibubeach are you sure you didn’t fill out the special programs and scholarships supplement? Did you put down the BA MD program on the Macaulay app? If you don’t want to go, by all means, call them and let them know so another person has a chance. What day are you going?

As far as the WashU and Rochester, let’s all be a little patient.

@thebombingrange I started filling out the special programs and scholarships supplement but i couldn’t send it in because i couldn’t get a recommendation from a math teacher. after some thought i decided not to send it but i think on my macaulay app i probably did indicate something about the ba-md program since i initially wanted to apply.

i’ll contact them and if this notification isn’t a mistake, i’d be happy to go. it’s on march 4.

Did you guys receive Rochester med app invitation? If so when? We have not received any

@malibubeach I will be there on March 4th at 1! Maybe I will see you there! I think that it is fair that you got an interview because you did most of the supplement. Can you post your stats?

@KLM123 I do not know anybody who got anything from Rochester or WashU. I didn’t even know Rochester made you submit a supplement. They said the beginning of March, so give it a few more weeks before getting concerned.

@thebombingrange i don’t think i clicked submit on my supplement though! that’s what scares me. i’m gonna muster up the courage and send an email to the director tomorrow maybe but here are my stats (which aren’t wonderful)

gpa: 93.7/100 (specialized high school if that helps)
SAT CR+M: 1400
ACT: 33
AP’s: World, US History, Spanish Language, Spanish Literature, and Calc AB
Activities:
3 years of varsity lacrosse
3 years of club lacrosse (semi-leadership role i guess)
1 year of club swimming
other random clubs with no leadership
3 years of Red Cross volunteering
1 year of volunteering with local religious center
Internship with private med clinic (at least 500 hours?)
some doctor shadowing

Your stats look pretty good, right around what Brooklyn usually gets. Email Dr. Silbering an ask him about it. That is pretty odd.
