Well the person that was notified lived in nj… I live closer and its been a week… I mean if you live in California you would perhaps expect a weeks delay but in a program where they take 21 people… I can;t help thinking the worst… lol

One down- rejected from Siena.

@TheBombingRange, how did you find out?!

@TheBombingRange… just got my rejection via snail mail…kind of stunned… thought that interview went really well… my sympathies to all those rejected…

Same, snail mail. I now have literally no reason to go there.

I share this account with my daughter…she got her rejection letter via snail mail from Siena today. We are also stunned because she thought the interview went excellent. She really wanted to get into that program :(

sorry to hear you got the same bad news @satrocks and @thebombingrange

Rejected from Siena. I was very shocked. They made it sound like I got in during the interview. I guess I got the wrong impression.

Same here, I was the last one on the last day…

This is just incredulous: not only was I not given an interview to Wash U’s program (not that big of a deal for me), I got waitlisted. What do they want? I feel like crap going into this weekend now…

Lol, worst week of my life too… rejected from Siena, Rochester, and Geneseo meds… bad interviews at the rest…

Geneseo has a med program? Where else did you apply? What programs?

Has anyone applied to a BS/DO program?

Nah, won’t help me if I want to be a surgeon.

@TheBombingRange, no DO even if that is the only program available to you? I have been told by my dad, a physician scientist (MD/PhD), that if I have a DO/PhD, I will be more competitive than someone with just an MD when it comes to matching for any program.

Having a PhD would help, but going the route of DO/PhD is not for me. Doing a PhD in order to get a residency match seems circuitous, especially if you want to start practicing medicine ASAP.

Why Rochester? Why? Everyone in your admin office giving totally different info about bs/md interview? Why?

@TheBombingRange, you are right, if your aim is to practice as soon as possible. It is an equally good alternative to, if not better than, a BS/MD program if you aim to be an academic.

@KLM123, lol I wish they would send me the rejection letters… REMS weekend is at the end of March sooo… kind of late to make plans at this point… I am guessing we are all rejected…

Anyone hear back from the DO program at NYIT?

@satrocks, so you applied to the BS/DO program? Which other ones did you apply to?

@TheBombingRange Geneseo has a program for high school students from rural area of New York I believe - they combine with Upstate Medical college.
