*** BS/MD Interview Notification for Class of 2014***

@shanny101 He just checked and got through - no date extensions though - maybe an email regarding an extension will come later

@GreenSage - sorry to hear about SBU/GW. You only need one so you have many more chances still. Don’t forget to keep your eyes on the schools that have early assurance programs and allow you to apply in at the end of your freshman year. I think there is one in Florida.

Greensage, so sorry to hear about SBU/GW.

Good luck with the ones you are waiting to hear from.

I am sorry that you did not get a call from SBU. Like others have said, you have several other offers and you will get in to one or more of those offers.

This is my personal opinion, so please take it with a pinch of salt - you are not missing much by not getting the SBU invite…:).

Every year [at least for the past two years] we have one or more participants who are very generous, genuine and helpful to others on this board. This year it is you [and perhaps may be one or two more]…:)

I sincerely wish you the very best and hope you get what you are looking for.

Simply based on your great attitude, you will succeed no matter what you end up doing in your life.

Good Luck and Cheer Up.

Has anyone heard from Boston U SMED?

@WeIsCool- Nope, not yet. Good luck!! :D

Has anyone heard from Northwestern HPME program?

@Leonardo5 I don’t think so, considering the deadline is today.

Hey, everybody! Does anybody know about VCU Interviews? I read through the posts and found that some have apparently gotten interviews, but when were/are they, and do you think they’re done with requesting interviews?

Update: I have been informed that interview requests will be sent out in mid-late January! Good luck to everyone who has applied and not yet received a request!

So far my S has been called for prelim interviews at
Rosemont/Drexel
Kean/Drexel
Ursinus/Drexel
Supplemental submitted to Union/AMC
Rejected SBU/GW
VCU Honors college forwarded to med school

Has anyone heard from RPI, Siena, VCU, UAB?

@BiomedFather, congrats. It is interesting to see that he was unsuccessful at his application to the SBU/GW program, but invited to submit the supplemental for Union/AMC. This is just the reverse for my son, supporting the notion that “You just don’t know what exactly these programs are looking for”! Son is also waiting to hear from RPI, Siena, and UAB. Going by postings in the the previous years, UAB should be out within the next one week.

@IMGDAD Thanks! Good luck to your son. My son is keeping his fingers crossed.
He is also waiting to hear from
NEOMED
U Cincinnati
Wayne State.
OOS seem to have low chances in Ohio Schools.

Someone told me there is a combined program in South Alabama. I don’t see it talked about on CC. Is it mainly for residents?

@BiomedFather, I like to know how you came to know that VCU Honors College forwarded your son’s application to their Med School. Thanks

@texaspg, yes there is a combined program in University of South Alabama. You do not need to be a resident to apply but is required to become a resident at certain stage of the program. The medical school is, however, perceived way behind, in terms of academics, University of Alabama in Birmingham.

@bsmd14: We got a letter from VCU.

Hey everyone!

I’m a bit late to the thread, but I just got my call from UAB and I realized that I haven’t been keeping up with college confidential haha

I was just denied an interview with EMSAP and SBU/GWU, but I did manage to get one with UMiami. I got the VCU Honors package as well, and I finished the extra Union/AMC supplement.

Have you all gotten your Drexel results back? On their application summary page my decision is still listed as under review, but I noticed (I may have just been skimming too quickly) that some of you have gotten your interview results back.

I’m also currently waiting for PLME, NEOMED, RPI, Rice/Baylor and GWU.
