@actsat2400, my son has been saying and I agree with him that when the admissions officer does not give you the decision right away and tell you that you will receive an email or letter in the next few days, it is always bad news. I am sorry and I hope I am wrong.

haha ok, I would be fine with rejection given that it is GW and they recieve a thousand applicants. Willl let u know what happens

@actsat2400, I have come up with an analogy for what I said earlier. Whenever a patient calls and ask for the results of a test or scan, if the results are good, my nurse would be quick to tell the patients the good news. However, if the results are not good, my nurse would always say that the results are still not back in full but should be all back when the patient returns to the clinic to see me.

I am starting to see some randomness in this process, I guess apply widely is a very good advice although I do not know how people manage say 20 programs, we feel overwhelmed by 11.

Midhelper, I remember your comments about the application fee. Sometimes It seems whatever we fear is what come true. On the other hand, your child has 3 schools on track, he/she is in good position. Best wishes.

My S rejected for an interview UMKC. Results just came out on the admissions portal.

UMKC interview! 1 for 5 so far haha

waiting on HPME ^.^

just as I thought @midhelpher,
Rejected from rems… haha had some hope but kind of realized that if I didn’t get an email a couple of days ago… then I would be rejected.

if you are rejected, then do they send an email or simply just not invite you to come to an interview?

usually they will let people know about interviews through email @aspiringstudent so my assumption was right for REMS…. i stress usually. and rejections tend to come through snail mail.

@BiomedFather, I am sorry to hear about the decision on your son’s UKMC application.

Congratulations to all who are invited for the interview at UMKC!

rejected for drexel/drexel and UMKC haha

@GreenSage, I am sorry to hear of the rejections. Remember, you only need one offer!

ah i see…@CAJ2014…aww i stress profusely as well. wherever we end up is going to be the best place for our college years~~~so try not to stress guys

it’s hypocritical though because i stress a LOT

@IMGDAD, yes true
The only thing i’ve gotten so far is the bs/md with st. george’s but as i said i don’t know if i’d really like to go to the west indies for medical school…

@GreenSage, you could do better than st. george’s!. I think this type of med school is probably more suitable for the older students and not fresh high school students. As for interviews at UMKC, after comparing you guys with my son, I have come to the conclusion that applying early and be the first batch to be considered is definitely advantageous. Good luck in your other applications. I believe you still have RPI/AMC and the NJ schools, right? And also the 4+4 programs with Drexel?

Rejected for REMS. Was told they had 700 applicants for 10 spots. As I said, thanks to this thread was already braced for the news. Good luck to everyone and congrats to the latest batch of interviews!

@aspiringstudent, yeah exactly! rather nervous all the time for these programs.

@actsat2400, regarding your kean inquiry, the email came from Judy April indicating that my daughter’s application was forwarded to Drexel. Drexel will decide whom they want to interview and will keep Kean notified. This email came on Jan 22/23rd time frame. Please write to Judy April, per my daughter she communicates back very promptly.

Good luck to everyone who have interviews coming up. Keep in mind you just need that one school. Sincerely wish all the students on this forum the very best. Last week, around this time my daughter was extremely stressed out about her UAB EMSAP interview the was scheduled the following day and next two days she agonized as to what will be the result. So, I understand the anxiety you all are going through and wish you all of you the very best.
