I am a current junior in Maryland starting to navigate the whole process. I am very interested in medicine and feel that the BSMD tract would be helpful for me to attain my goals. I have tons of leadership within my school (SGA President and multiple club leadership positions) and on a national level with EC, very high GPA, 2 varsity sports, research, shadowing over 200 hours so far, publications, and such. I think i will have great letters of recs from within my school and my researchers and community leaders. I have a story to weave about how I am committed to medicine and how my EC and research all work together toward that goal. However, my test scores are hovering around the 95% percentile (1400-1450 range). I’m continuing to prepare to take it again but not sure if I’ll be much more successful. Can any past applicants chime in if they were accepted with lower test scores, or should I not bother. I’m very impressed by all your resumes. I wish you all much success.
@fstdriver1 Suggest to take ACT also in addition to SAT if you are planning to retake. Sometime students score very well in ACT. Then use ACT score and don’t submit SAT scores.
Since you are stating ‘by all your resumes’, not sure from which thread you have seen and if you are referring to results thread. Every year there is a results . Read those posts and see if any one with lower score got admission. Scores alone do not determine.
