chances into bs/md program

I am a junior and attend a health related magnet school. I am rank 5/237. gpa of 4. Around 1500 volunteer hours with a camp for those with special needs. Member of NHS, mu alpha theta, spanish honor society, hosa, science bowl, and band. Secretary of NHS and HOSA president for 2 years. Band vice president. Competed in various regional level and state level band competitions. Lead staff member and lifeguard summer job at my camp. Placed 2nd in my hosa state competition and will go to international competition this summer. I am going to do a medical research internship program 8 weeks this summer and will compete in science fair next year. I feel qualified, but am very nervous about my test scores. SAT: 1300/1600 with essay included. I only took AP classes this year, and have probably passed english, calc ab, and apush. Took physics ap, will take bio, chem, stats, and calc bc ap next year. Have not taken act. Plan on taking math 2 and a bio subject test in october.

I’m sorry, but what’s the question? Whether you can make it into any BS/MD program, in general?

yes @Roentgen

Your test scores need improvement, but you are otherwise very strong.

can i get accepeted with the test scores i have now? @hebegebe

@fluteplayer17, a 1300/1600 is relatively low on the SAT for a BS/MD program. I would at least try to kick it up to a 1400 out of 1600, if you can. If you were to get into a BS/MD program it would likely be at a lower tier school, and even that would be dependent on being in-state more likely.

I don’t know about other programs, but Howard’s BS/MD program may be a good option based on your scores/GPA.

i brought it up to a 1440

@Fluteplayer17 Very good and it will improve your chances for BS/MD program. Would suggest just give it a try for ACT when you are planning to take SAT 2 in Math and Science this Oct. You may never know, ACT may come out naturally for you. GL
