Does anyone know the difference between a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design and a Bachelor in Fine Arts in Graphic Design?

Honestly, there is very little difference. From what I can tell, a BS gives more liberal arts.

A BFA or BS will be similar–2/3 focused studies in the major, 1/3 liberal arts.
A BA is about half and half I think. Much broader, less time focused on the major.

Some schools have a BS in design, others BFA. I can’t really see a lot of difference in the degree itself, though various programs vary quite a bit in how much flexibility they offer to shape the direction/flavor of design.

BFA usually means “hands on”. For example in the BA/BS you might take a graphic design class called “principals of design” whereas in the BFA you might have to submit a portolio for admissions then take an equivalent class called “digital 2d design” which focuses less on lectures/tests and more on portolio building.

At least that’s how it is at most of the unis here.
