Matter a fact he just called me. Nothing he could do … still wish the best to you guys !!

How does financial aid work for this school

I think I might have actually been deferred… kinda confused. :S

They gave me no financial aid bc of my parents income bracket and I’m terrified just thinking about how much loans im gonna have. my parents are gonna pay 15k a year but I’m definitely not gonna survive with 180k in debt

breag97…when you say no financial aid do you mean no scholarships? because technically loans are financial aid. Did they not give you any loans?

@bigbooklover Well, by that definition then they gave me about 3K in loans which helps but not a substantial amount

Good news! Aparently my schools college councilor got a call for the admissions director at BU saying that I was a great applicant and they fought hard to get me in ED, but because I have shown an upward trend they want to wait and see my 1st semester grades before offering me anything.
Not too disappointed, I love BU and have showed a ton of interest. At the end of the day I just want to be able to say that I have tried my hardest and done everything physically possible in my power to get into my dream school. I am so happy for everyone that got in, it is SUCH an accomplishment, and to my fellow deferrals, don’t loose hope… getting deferred means someone at BU believes in you and is fighting for you. BU usually just gives out acceptances and denials, so getting a deferral is not the end of the world!

Good luck to everyone!

breag97…$3000 in loans is not very much…I think I will get into BU but I am worried about financial aid

how do you know if you got loans or not

Under the decisions tab it says financial assistance or something like that. @bigbooklover gettinf financial aid really depends on what your parents make thats practically it- grades matter just a little bit

@bigbooklover Dont worry too much about it I was super concerned but I got $38,000 in grants so it’s so up in the air, I actually haven’t heard of anyone getting the presidential scholarship yet… Good luck if you are applying RD :)

do I nees to submit fasfa cause I still need to do that

Hey guys, congrats to everyone who got in! i was deferred, but that just means its time to do the other supplements! lol @anniey, thanks for letting me know that’s a possibility, made me feel better

Was accepted into the School of Management - Major in Finance!

Lol I am going to SMG and for finance too

Just out of curiosity, do you think there’s a way to apply for scholarships? I don’t want to be such a burden on my parents, and loans are a pain. Obviously I can get a job and whatnot…

@smorasa14 no because you cant submit the fasfa till january I think

Are they determining financial aid off CSS profile?

@bigbooklover they give you aid based off the css profile and the fasfa. For ED applicants they could only give tentative aid because they only had the CSS profile to look at

If I was deferred do I still need to pay the enrollment fee??
