Accepted to CAS with enough aid! Can’t wait to meet you all!

accepted to com !!!

I found out i was deferred from BU yesterday Can someone tells me what this means? Do i still have a chance to get in? Do people get straight up denied ED and im lucky i got deferred? I have a 3.3 gpa and a 26 on the act, i applied to the communications school but will go to the general studies if need be. Im taking my first ap/honors courses this year so maybe that helps. thank you!

people do get denied from ed. getting deffered just means that you will be seen as an applicant for regular decision. so if you get in rd you don’t have to go to bu. and the honors will help you but i would suggest taking the act again and try to get a 28 at least because that will significantly increase your chances.

Will it be possible to take the act again before B U makes its regular admissions decision?

Also do deferred ED apps get priority over RD apps? what steps do i need to take to do everything i can to get in?

Hey guys, i heard back from BU yesterday, i was deferred from the college of communications. i am now contemplating on whether or not applying ed 2 to gwu? any thoughts or anyone share the same idea?

DD was deferred in dec 2010, and accepted regular decision. In her case, shr wrote a great letter reiterating that BU was her first choice, supplied an additional recommendation from a volunteer job that she excelled at, and retook her SATs. Feel free to look at my prior posts on what she said…it worked! When she was accepted it was to CGS. This turned out to be the best possible choice for her, as their major emphasis is on persuasive writing, which is perfect for her major (now) in COM. She has been told more than once that as a rule CGS students are stronger when they get to the upper division classes because they have done more writing in their small classes. Take heart, deferred ones! Be proactive!

Got accepted with enough financial aid to attend ! So stoked! If it wasn’t for the aid, we wouldn’t be able to afford it! It is a dream! I will be attending BU! Now, I just can’t let senioritis happen . have to keep up my grades !

*keep my grades up… Lol its 2:23 and I’m tired, that’s my excuse and congrats everyone who got accepted !!

can anyone who got deferred/rejected post their stats? thank you so much

As an international student I got deferred I applied to SMG what can I do to get in now it is still my top choice

tnajar05 if you dont mind did you get merit aid and if so what were your stats?

I got accpeted into Sargent College! I honestly didn’t think I was! They only accepted like 22% last year for ED so I didn’t think I would make the cut! I also got $44,600 in Scholarships/grants! I honestly expected to get $10,000 tops! Im hoping to get financial aid when FAFSA is available! I can’t a believe I got into my dream school and I have to only pay for dorming, dining and other expenses!

BUBound2018 you are giving me hope…what were your stats?

What were your stats? if you don’t mind me asking. THANKS…I need a scholarship.

My stats were pretty good but my SAT scores were TERRIBLE. My superscore was 1600! Math was only 510 and reading was 530!
But I was top 10% out of 165, a 3.9 GPA, 6 AP courses, 4 leadership positions, 6 extracurricular activities, over 200 communitiy service hours, first generation, and bilingual. I was told my common app essay was killer and my supplement essay was pretty good as well.

Don’t lose hope! It really is more about numbers.

*more than about numbers

Thanks BUBound…I am keeping my fingers crossed that I receive merit aid

Just got THE envelope, still excited when I opened it even though I knew what was inside
