I am about to start my first year at BU but I do wish to transfer to Occidental so I can attend that college starting next fall. I didn't apply to Occidental this past year because I had never heard of it and after college decisions came out I had not got into my top choices in LA such as UCLA. I did get into Berkeley however, but I didn't plan on attending. As for my stats, I graduated with a 3.78 GPA from high school and I got a 30 on the ACT. My extracurricular activities were pretty significant; for example I was the head of a major cultural organization outside my school and I ran my own business. I worked a few jobs at the time and will continue to work at BU. I was just hoping someone could chance me for applying to Occidental College as a transfer and also if I could get any advice for completing the transfer application. I know nothing about transferring and would greatly appreciate some help. Thanks :)

I got into Occidental as a transfer student. To be honest, transferring to a liberal arts college is a complete crap shoot, as their spaces depend on how many beds they have/how many students go abroad/financial aid reserved or left over. Most LAC transfer stats will fluctuate dramatically year to year. You should give Pati a call about the intricacies of the transfer process specific to Oxy but if I got in, I imagine you don’t need to be graced by God to get a transfer acceptance out of them!
