I am currently enrolled at Salisbury University, I will be a sophomore this year. I am looking to transfer my junior year to somewhere in Boston. I am a communications major and the city is a place where I will receive many more opportunities than here in MD. I have been researching Boston University, Northeastern, Boston College, etc. and want some feedback as to which colleges are the best for communications majors, best in Boston, and best overall to transfer to as a junior. Thanks!

I am definitely a little biased because I go to BU, but I would say Boston University, if you are not looking to do a co-op program. The College of Communication at BU is well-known and there are tons of opportunities for internships and the like. Boston College is not in the city at all, and does not possess it’s own communication school. I honestly don’t know that much about Northeastern. If you are looking for a school-specific program, then BU definitely has one.

COM majors at NEU tend to work in the school for their CO-OP (they would never say this online). CO-OP is mostly good for science majors, business majors and foreign affairs…perhaps a few more. So if your going to study COM, the CO-OP is not really for you.

thank you! very helpful
