Hey guys! I’m from Australia in my final year of high school and am sooo confused on how university’s work here! I’m trying to choose between going to CAS or COM for my undergrad in cinema and media studies and can’t understand the differences- is it just the locations?? Also what are the banking point things people pay for at the start of the year? Are there any dress codes in college?? I’ve heard how hard they are for high school in America! What about living on campus? What areas are reccomened and what’s even the difference- do sororities exist outside of movies?? Sorry for all the questions I could go on all day x
I assume that you are applying for fall, 2018. If you want to major in cinema and media studies you would apply to COM. There is no such major in CAS. There are no dress codes at BU other than you must be dressed. Where to live is based on wanting to be near the school you are in and type of accommodation you prefer. There are sororities at BU. Never heard of “banking point”.
Wow thanks so much! Do you know anywhere I can look at online to find the differences between the living sectors? The website in quiet odd. Is there anyway I can apply for any scholarships to that course since I don’t have a SAT mark or GPA? Are scholarships offered to the course?? Thanks for your time
Also what are school clubs? Are they important or just activities?? x
You will need to take the SAT or ACT for admission. BU will consider your Australian marks as they are. For internationals there is no need based financial aid. You will be considered for merit aid automatically for some or by special application for others e.g. trustees scholarship.
