Bubble Chart?

I read a few things on here and heard someone talk about being on a bubble chart the penn state has? I've never heard of it and was wondering if you guys could give me a link or tell me what its does exactly.

One guy gave a bubble chart for his high school. It was ridiculous how many people in his high school got into University Park. There may have been enough chart, though.

yea i saw that...im thinking that might have been branch campuses as well or something like that...but the one im talking about someone said they were a yellow bubble? idk im just curious

Here's the link to the bubble chart: http://admissions.psu.edu/info/counselors/bubble_chart06.pdf. I think the statistics are from last year's admissions, since it says "updated 10-08" in the bottom corner.

Thanks a lot Choirmom! Man im right inbetween the blue and yellow... 3.787 GPA and a 1750SAT i figure ill at least get in summer

I think it's about a 50/50 chance for you for University Park. Best of luck.

Thanks ill take all the luck i can get ahah

I'm in the blue!!! 4.0 and 1880! I checked summer too...I hope this thing is legit.

Its from the website so im sure it is...

we don't know what the hold up is: my son is pretty much "in the blue" with a 4.23 and 1720. but one never knows....with so many people applying this year with such high stats it is worrisome. i heard that admissions is trying to complete their admission process also for transfer students who will start in january. maybe they are prioritizing that and putting some of us on hold ?

When did you guys apply b/c with a 4.23 there should be no reason you dont get into fall... i applied late October and they recieved everything from my school on Novemeber 10 so ill be as patient as i can for now

i applied august 1st and got everything in by like second week of september and havent heard yet with a 4.0 and 1880...this sucks waiting

You guys shouldnt worry...with a 4GPA your well above avg for penn state

Yeah that's what everyone's been telling me but I'd still like to have that acceptance letter in my hand, you know? haha

Oh believe me i do ahaha im just praying i at least get into the summer session! Does the major I signed up for have any effect you think??? Chemical Engineering...

Well, I'm not positive. The admissions lady told my mom that the "middle 50%" of applicants, which is us if we havent heard yet, for them the major doesn't matter. I think it might have a small effect, but I'm right there with you because Smeal Business (which I applied to) and the Engineering school are the two toughest/best colleges at PSU from what I've been told. I think we'll be straight though. I checked summer as well.

JuiceIBox my son applied first week in Sept and admissions had everything they needed. Maybe the SAT scores are delaying it ?

Or maybe the 80,000 kids who applied are delaying it =P who knows im just gunna cry in a corner for awhile while i wait ahah

the funny thing is..more than 80,000 have applied haha. doesn't help
and why do you think the major doesn't matter for those who are in the mid range?

i see the bubble chart, but i am still worried.
i have a 4.23 weighted gpa and a 1670 SAT.
chances?
smeal?
thanks for the help.
