Bucknell vs. Trinity

HELP!!! Almost certain I’ll be majoring in econ, but me being the most indecisive person on the planet has finally killed me in deciding where to attend. I like the fact that Bucknell is a little bigger, but the greek dominance turns me off quite a bit. As for trinity, Hartford is not a place I think very highly of…

i have other posts about economics in other threads, so im not going to repeat that. but ill make a point on the greek life (i have addressed this generally in numerous other threads, as well). yes, a large percentage of students go greek. but greek does not necessarily mean an 'animal house' reenactment every weekend. we have a frat (and im not joking) filled with some of stereotypical-in-every-way engineers... the ones who would rather go to one of the engineering buildings and play video games on giant screens on a saturday night than get drunk on cheap beer. that said, the bucknell stereotype does have its origins in truth. there are definitely parties. theyre definitely well attended. and theyre not nearly as disgusting as the ones ive attended at penn state.

and i agree on your trinity comment. i was going to stop with my mom on a trip we were taking to boston to visit my brother. lets just say that neither of us got out of the car. that said, both schools are known to provide great educations.

good luck in making your choice! and if you have any questions, feel free to ask away on the dedicated thread (just to make things easier for everyone else).

I'm just a curious student of human behavior. Cavs, why did you bother to apply to these 2 colleges if each has major flaws for you (frats at Bucknell, and Hartford being crappy)? If you got into both of them, your credentials are probably good enough to get you accepted at 99% of the colleges in the country.

Maybe not major flaws, but I'm getting down to the fine details in trying to determine which one over the other. I'll be attending Trinity regardless, unless I hear from one of my many waitlists.
