I have gotten into both, and both the business schools.
I received scholarships from both: 3 thousand from buffalo, and 10 thousand from ohio state.
Buffalo is instate so the cost of attendence is approx. 17 thousand, and ohio state will cost about 24 thousand.
Which is a better option..(Im leaning towards tOSU)

My kid got into both too, and chose SUNY because of his health sciences major (and the honors college program). I’d probably lean towards Ohio State for the business major. Columbus would have more internship and business opportunities than Buffalo. $28K is a lot of money, but you might be able to qualify for more scholarships or make other efforts to reduce that difference (for ex., if you’d live in a double at SUNY, chose a quad at OSU).

This depends on how much overall debt you’d be incurring, though. If you are already borrowing the difference between the scholarship and the cost, then Buffalo is the better value. You don’t want to borrow so much money that you can’t ever consider graduate school, or so much that you will be burdened with excessive loan payments on graduation. Borrowing $28K to pay the difference between the cost of two schools is very different than borrowing $100K for an undergrad degree. At that point, you’d be better off at the cheaper school and making your own opportunities in Buffalo.

1ust to supplement my response - someone on another thread made an excellent point about price differentials. The parent said something about using the money to buy a semester abroad, an extra semester to double major, etc. The price difference between Ohio and SUNY can buy you a lot of extras at SUNY.
