Would buisness be a good premed major?

If your going to run your on practice if you become a doctor, then yeah.

any one else have a thought???

i'm curious as well...i was thinking about minoring in business or doing a double major in bio and business. i think its a great idea if i expect to have my own office and deal with insurance, etc. what does everyone else think?

Have you considered a career in hospital management?

that might be kinda rough.. business and bio double major.. well guess it depends on where you go..

This thread from the Cornell forum addresses the same question. You might be interested in reading it:

My ex-stepmom started out as a nurse and is now a VP in a hospital making close to 200k. She just had an article written about her:

It just shows how much hard work can get you, for it is not typical for a nurse to rise in the ranks like that i believe.

You can also do premed with business at Wharton. I had a bunch of classmates who did that and are now in med school.

There is also a new program at Penn that combines Wharton and pre-med. It's called the Vagelos program. I don't know much about it but someone made a post about it in the Penn section and mentioned that it's on the application.

Does anyone know of other programs like the Wharton Penn program? It sounds like it's worth some digging. Thanks Whartonalum!
