Burning Financial Aid Question

I know there are already threads about Georgetown's financial aid, but I just have a quick question that I'm dying to have answered. I visited Georgetown this weekend and loved it, but was heartbroken that my family's income is enough to probably not qualify for aid, but nowhere near enough to pay for Georgetown.

My mom called the financial aid office today and was told that I've been awarded $31,000 total in grants, a work study, and a small student loan. My mother is not a very precise person, and doesn't remember getting an indication of whether this was $31,000 TOTAL, or a renewable $31,000 package for each year. Any insights? I'm going to call the financial aid office myself tomorrow after school, but if anyone can answer my question before then I could breathe easier. If it's renewable, I can and probably will attend...if not, my state school will be fine. Thanks so much.

If your family’s income and assets do not change that much from year-to-year, then your FA should be about the same every year. Best to call and get precise figures though.
