Busey Evans at UIUC

Despite putting only six pack dorms and Allen Hall on my preference list, I was placed in Busey Evans. I have heard that Busey Evans is very quite and study oriented. I'm very outgoing, I like to party (not crazy amounts, but I definitely enjoy going out), and I'm not the quiet study type. I decided not to try to switch dorms because the majority of my classes are in the Art and Design Building and I was concerned I would end up in a dorm far from it. So I am going to go in with an open mind and maybe I will like Busey Evans. But I am wondering if you can and how you would go about switching dorms after school starts if it isn't a good fit? Also does anyone have any experiences with Busey Evans? Thanks!

If you think you’re going to try switching, just switch now. Open rooms are usually in PAR, which is not where you’d want to go. I was stuck in Snyder and applied to switch, and got switched right next door to Scott (way better).

You can still party and be social at Busey, but I would still recommend going for switching to the 6pack. If you plan on rushing a sorority, Busey and LAR are good because they are close to the sororities.

Just out of curiosity, what’s wrong with PAR?

it’s in bufu. that’s what most people say they don’t like about it.

What’s bufu?

it’s sooo far from everything
