Hey guys:), This is my first time posting so forgive me if im doing it wrong.
I am switching from an IT degree to a Business degree for next semester. I realized programming just was not my thing and i didn’t enjoy it. I enjoy business and all the aspects of it although i struggle in math. After doing some research (on here) i saw that the math courses like STAT, Financial Accounting, and Business Calculus are not so bad. Although i am getting some mixed feelings about Managerial Accounting.
Can someone please give me a run down about all of this from your perspective?
thank you in advance:)
Financial Accounting can be a bear. It’s a critical class for the accounting majors, who have to earn (at least at UF) a B or better to continue on in the major. If your school has Industrial Engineering, some of them may also be taking the class (and whining about it). It makes for a competitive class, earn your C, C+ and move on…
The math in both financial and managerial accounting is not that bad (pretty basic). It’s the concepts and complexity that is the challenge. Lots of moving parts. Once you understand the concept, the math won’t be an issue.
But they are VERY challenging courses because of the concepts. The problem sets (homework) takes a lot of time.
