Business + Engineering?

Hi Guys,

I am a freshman at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign majoring in the college of business.

Although I am in the college of business, I've feel that is is very critical to have an understanding of technology and engineering in the 21st century; however, I am not too good in engineering.

What combination would suit me better?

Double Major: Marketing and International Business
Minor: Spanish

or

Major: Marketing
Minor: Technology Management Program ( Honors program in engineering for business students) and Spanish

Thank You, Have a nice day

soon, you will hear a poster coming in here promoting the godly drexel whatever program

If you aren’t good at it why do it? Excel where you excel. Marketing + technology is a very odd combination. Management or Finance + technology is probably a better combo for a non tech person. However, if you want to do marketing than do marketing, the Spanish combo would be a nice add on. If you find you are ever leaning towards technology there are courses and certificate programs out there that will teach you what you need to know as a business major that you can get after graduation. These will be more honed to the specific field that you are marketing in.

I’m not sure I’d waste my time with the technology management courses. Since you won’t know where you’ll end up; computer tech, biotech, pharma tech, chemicals, etc. And these are all very unique.

You are absolutely right. I recommend you getting involved in the National Organization for Business and Engineering at Illinois or at least contacting the students there and figuring out what they think about it. Everyone there has your mindset: [NOBE - University of Illinois](http://www.nobenational.org/illinois/)

However, If I were you I’d choose the Marketing with Technology Management. Good luck!
