<p>Son was 1st in class, 34 ACT, solid ec’s. Just did not get in. He is very happy with his college experience without BHP. Finance major, accounting and history minors. He thought the interview went fine.</p>
<p>flatxca, what do u think was the reason he wasn’t accepted? And did he get a rejection letter during the priority notification (assuming he applied before the priority deadline) or was he notified later, during March?</p>
<p>flaxaca, I am hoping you can shed some light on what we can expect this week for the folks who met the Nov. 1 deadline.</p>
<p>I don’t really remember when the notification came, but it was by letter. </p>
<p>I have tried to sort out why one son got in and the other did not. It was 2 different years, so one year may have been more competitive. The son that got in took more SAT 2 tests and did well on them, but their ACT/SAT scores were very similar. Both were 1st in their class. I think sometimes it just happens. As hard as it is to believe, the rejection is not personal. There are just so many applicants and not enough space.</p>
<p>However…as I have said, he is very happy with the path he is taking. He had many choices of colleges and only decided to go to UT at the last second, on the last day. He says now that BHP wasn’t really for him. He likes the extra time in his schedule to take off beat and off major classes. UT has so much to offer!</p>
<p>I hope we hear something soon.</p>

<p>I had a friend call and BHP has not mailed acceptances yet. They said they would go out by the end of the week.</p>
<p>So…nothing till next week, then? Le sigh.</p>
<p>I guess. My interviewer told me this week. I guess they are running behind. I do not feel too bad because at least I got an interview. I know 4 other kids who are still waiting. I suspect that I will not get in. Like others have said…McCombs is a great opportunity even without BHP.</p>

<p>I had my BHP interview in early January and was told that I would get a decision within a week. When almost 2 weeks had passed and I hadn’t received a decision, I called BHP and asked them why. They told me that they hadn’t sent out any decisons (not even for those who met the priority deadline) but they plan to do so by the end of January. Idk why its taking so long</p>
<p>ahh, I see…but I got into McCombs…so maybe the decision for bhp is right on time?</p>
<p>Yeah last year they found out by the 15th of January. Maybe that means this year is more competitive…</p>
<p>No clue, man. All I know is that I’m checking the mailbox every day because of BHP. :P</p>
<p>But, if they did send 'em out last week, we should be getting them this week, eh? I hope so, at least. It’d suck if they go into February.</p>
