business school admissions

I applied to the Gabelli School of Business EA and anxiously waiting to hear back later this week. However, I have a couple questions:

Is the business school harder to get in than the Rose Hill college? And if I am rejected from Gabelli, am I considered at all for acceptance to Rose Hill?

Thank you!

I am not aware of particular school stats at Fordham, though I am sure they have them. The party line is that its the same standards at all schools, with the exception of College of Liberal Studies for adults and students with special circumstances. Generally, and anecdotally, I do think that CBA (now Gabelli) is about the same as FCRH, though the students at FCRH feel a bit “deeper in thought” but that is a matter of comparing finance to philosophy. If you select Gabelli on the application that is the only school, generally speaking you will be considered for admission. If you don’t select any school they presume its for FCRH, since its the largest. Gabelli students take a very similar core requirement as FCRH students and they live together and do a lot together. There is some separation as they enter their major areas of study, but there is also overlap in some interdisciplinary programs and they are working to make more “connections” between the two colleges. Everyone eats in the same cafeteria and goes to the same sporting events. Gabelli has unique study abroad programs as well. They also have different internships and more companies who recruit for jobs for graduates. But that is normal for a business college, versus a liberal arts college.

Hope that helps.

I applied to Gabelli too! Good luck :)
