Business school question

Is taking economics or stat courses necessary for admission or for any classes in the school (accounting specifically)?

Any student can take Comm 201 (Intro Financial Accounting) or Comm 202 (Intro Management Accounting) without prior coursework in statistics or economics. If you want to get into McIntire after your 2nd year, you'll need to take Stat 212 (intro statistics - easy) and economics 201/202 (intro micro/macro economics - easy), and several other courses.

How hard is it to get into McIntyre? I've heard it's virtually impossible. What type of GPA should I aim for?

Average GPA for entering class:
2005: 3.48 (from Admissions FAQ)
2006: 3.55 (from what I recall during info session)

Do you think Id have to take any STAT classes if Im taking Math Probability and Math Stat anyway? Would taking History of Jazz satisfy a fine arts and the history requirement? Also, is a non western perspectives class required and if so what classes would satisfy it?

Virtually impossible? LOL. No, if you work hard, and you're not stupid, you can get in.

SigmaCentauri, you will not have to take stat212 if you take mathematical probability and mathematical statistics (math310 and math 312). They are much more rigorous than stat212 and will give you superior footing in that area.

Sweetness. Any info about my other questions?

damn. 3.55 average gpa.

mine is 3.52 now. F***

i got in btw.

Congrats! What are you going to focus on?

Do you guys think the business school would let someone with a lower GPA in if he were a math major as well? I dont want to screw myself over.
