My intended major is accounting.
I live in MD and I would like to stay in the DC area for college - preferably within 1-2 hrs of commute from the city. I have CP and Georgetown in mind (I hope to get into Gemstone, but don't have as much confidence for GT), my friends recommended GW and American as well.
I'd like to go to a univ that offers good international opportunities (plan on going to Europe for graduate school), and introduces me to extensive employment opportunities (want to start interning/working as soon as possible).
My goal is not Wall Street. I'm interested in music and arts more than anything else, I plan on studying accounting to obtain a stable income. Hopefully I'll have time on my own to explore my other interests in humanities. I wouldn't call myself high-maintenance, but I value a relatively high standard of living. $60000/yr is close to where I want to be within a few years of undergrad graduation. Is this realistic?
It probably sounds like I don't need to go to a top school like Georgetown, but I still set my goal on it so I can have more options in the future in case I change my mind. I'm also very skeptical about the type of student community that I live in, preferably with students from well educated families. I hope I don't sound snobby? :P
