Business Schools to look into

I am currently a junior becoming a senior and I want to do finance or economics.
I currently have a 4.25 weighted GPA 3.89 UW GPA
My act score is a 30, super-scored to a 31
Have taken 3 AP tests, Gov-4 Physics B-4 and USH-5 and will be taking Calc BC, Physics C, Both Econs, and Lit and most likely will get 4-5 on all of them
I am a part of NHS, MECS(an environmental club) and a leadership position, CEC(helping children with mental disabilities with after school activities) and have 50+ hours of community service and a recipient of the presidential education award.
I currently live in Illinois.

and my UC GPA is 4.15

UMich, GWU, BC, BU, Villanova, Penn State, UVA would be good.

Are these schools that I have a pretty good chance in getting into?

U.S. News puts out a ranking of undergraduate business schools. Use the official rankings and go from there. You should probably be looking at the business schools ranked in the 15-50 range.

How much can your family afford? UCs and UMich will all be >$50K/year.

They only go up to 10? I know they have top undergraduate schools but the business rankings only go up to 10.

You don’t necessarily need a business school. Finance and econ are available at every school, even LAC’s. Pick a school that fits you overall, based on preferred size, location, budget, lifestyle, etc. With your stats, the caliber of school you will attend is sure to be strong in finance and econ.

Well do any schools come to mind because thats what im struggling with. I feel that I am looking at schools that I would have a hard time getting into and would Bowdoin be a good choice for an LAC because I know I can get into there.

You “know” you can get into a LAC with <16% admission rate where your ACTs are in the bottom 25% of admits??

Try using the CC college supermatch engine available from the main page.

Id rather not say why I know I can get in there

Bowdoin is a good choice, well recruited for business jobs. With your stats, you should be competitive for most schools. Help steer us to the right recommendations. What size, location, and vibe do you prefer? What is your budget?

Location-Somewhere warm. I hate Illinois and am only planning on applying to UIUC as a safe school, size doesnt matter I come from a huge high school so any size. Budget isnt an issue. Vibe, probably serious about education but still can have fun in college

You look like a match for Michigan and that would be an excellent school to consider. Remember that it is very hard to get a pre-admit to Ross from HS. Most admissions to the school come from students matriculated in the freshman class. Ross is a three year program.

What happens if after freshman year I go to apply to Ross and dont get in? What would I have to do because its the same situation with Berkeley which I hope Im competitive in

“Somewhere warm” would rule out Michigan. And Bowdoin, for that matter.

OP, if you don’t make it into Ross or Berkeley’s business programs then you would probably want to major in Econ.

With a 3.8/30 I’d look at the top 35 with the disclaimer that a number of those will be big reaches (e.g., Penn-Wharton, MIT). Indiana has a great program and your stats might qualify you for pre-admit to Kelley.

Virtually all schools have Econ, only business schools will offer Finance.

Thanks for everyone’s help and Chardo I would prefer warm but will not limit myself to such

^^^Good thinking. Try to get into the best program you can comfortably afford.
