Hi, I've been accepted to UCSD and SDSU. I was wondering which of the two have stronger business programs. Which of two schools have stronger business programs and more company recruiters? I'm unsure of the econ program at UCSD and the recruiters down there. I heard SDSU was good for business but is it better than UCSD? I dont which school to attend and I'm waiting until very last day June 1st. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

SDSU has a widely respected (on a regional level) business program whereas UCSD has no undergrad business but a widely respected (on a national level) economics department. If you wanted a business job in San Diego, I'd go with the prestige, name, and networking of SDSU, but if you wanted to keep your options open geographically, as well as have the backing of the UC name, I'd go with UCSD.

Also, as these campuses differ greatly in culture and atmosphere, I'd make "individual fit" a large factor in your decision.

UCSD. The opportunities you will get from this degree will be more useful to you rather than just one specific program.

UCSD, it's just so much more respected overall. If you're ambitious, good chance you'll get an MBA anyway, so go to the better school. Especially if you ever plan to leave San Diego.

SDSU has a much better name in business in the southern california area. I have another plan for you, get hired in southern california. Then if you ever decide to leave (don't know why you'd want to), you'll have the work experience to back it up. The name of your degree only goes so far. But considering SDSU has a better name in the "business" world on a national level, i'd go with SDSU. I mean UCSD would be great if you're majoring in science....or anything besides business.
