Business

What is a business major like?

How are grades determined, for the majority of the time.

Is is stressful?

How hard is it?

my business major was very stressful and hard. but i've heard it's not like that at all schools. we had a lot of group projects and presentations. (like hundred page papers, presentations in front of ceo's of companies, etc). as far as grades, at my school, there were papers, tests, projects, presentations. occasionally maybe a homework assignment, but that's rare.

Grades are determined mostly by tests.

It's one of the easiest and most useful majors. Why else would 50% of all college students major in business?

Probably an easy major, but are you sure you are interested in the field of business itself or just would be in it because it is easy? When choosing a major, choose something you would enjoy no matter what it is. Worrying about a job comes later. You have to pursue what you want to pursue in life even if it requires challenges or competition in some shape or form. Because otherwise there will be no motivation for you to even do the work. Some people like that will somehow make it through school with no motivation, but wouldn't you rather be motivated in what you are studying? I see all kinds of people with no motivation whatsoever in their studies. Hopefully you won't end up like that and have a genuine interest in whatever field you choose.

i really think everyone is underestimating business majors. I don't know how it is at other schools, but business was one of the toughest/most demanding majors at my school. i literally spent hours in the library every day working on projects. i spent full days in the library on weekends. our program was just very time consuming.. but don't get me wrong, i learned a ton from it.

(only 2 out of about 20 people in my major graduated with honors, which is a 3.3 gpa or above)

How much of a business major is math or math related?

statistics, accounting, and finance.

and marketing. and some aspects of operations.

You don't need to be proficient in math--there's plenty of functions for nonmath people--but you need to be at least comfortable with numbers and understand how to interpret them.

But yes--business is one of the more challenging majors (mentally and physcially) at many schools.

top 10 business programs are NO joke.
