Okay, so I’m a junior in high school, I want to get into a UC like UCR, or UCSC and major in business, and my gpa isn’t really great, I have a 3.0, and I also struggled during the corse of high school with personally issues and ended up with a D in chemistry, which I am unable to retake, and a D+ in Ap psych, my SAT scores were around the 1300, and I have not yet taken the ACT, but are my chances to get into a UC right after high school gone ?
If you hover around a 3.0/slightly above it then the only ones I think you’d have a decent chance at are Merced and Riverside. I’d recommend looking into CSUs more.
To have a decent chance (> 50%) at UCM or UCR, you’ll need to raise your UC GPA (weighted and capped) to at least 3.4 to 3.5. Otherwise, you will get rejected. UCSC is a little higher, say at least 3.6.
You might want to try your best to clear the D and D+ grades by somehowing retaking the classes. Reporting the D in your UC application will be catastropic.
