So I'm considering buying the review books for the three AP courses I'm taking this upcoming year (US History, English Lang, and Psych) and I was wondering if that was a good idea... it would be nice to get a head start, but if wouldn't be favorable if newer editions of the book came out.

I heard these are the best for the three AP's I'm taking:
Psychology: Barron's
US History: AMSCO (if someone could give me a link to this one I would appreciate it)
English Language: Cliffs

I checked the consolidated list and those seemed to come up on top. Does anyone know when new editions will be released?

I’ve heard that most of the ‘new’ editions are basically the same but with a different date. I have no personal experience but that’s what my friends told me so I already bought mine lol.

I already bought mine too (AP week, because I wasn’t sure if there were going to be more sales later on), but I know some are on sale again now. Generally there is little difference between new editions unless there has been a massive change on the test.

I’d like to also note that Cliffs (which has been recommended for LangComp and Bio) are both from several years ago, although still very good. I’m pretty sure Barron’s is the only one of the three that updates regularly. Seriously, it’s most of the time not worth it to buy the new editions anyway.

Get direct hits for USH as well. AMSCO is good, but really long (more like a text book)

On Amazon, some of the books are already coming out with 2012 editions and a whole new look.

they may be coming out with a whole new look, but i doubt that the actual content of the books are that different. i generally use princeton review, if that helps. i find it to be more comprehensive and easier to understand than barron’s, but i haven’t taken psych, so i dont know about that one.
